On Koh Phangan’s south-east coast, just north of the raucous Haad Rin, lies the quiet and more tranquil Haad Yuan beach.
You’ll need to get your walking shoes on to get here from Haad Rin or alternatively catch a longtail boat from Haad Rin Nok (Sunrise Beach) as there are currently no drive-able roads connecting the two beaches.
Trust us when we say that is a blessing rather than an irritation. That’s the draw of Haad Yuan as it is a bit of a haven away from the full-on noise of the parties.
Kick back here on the beach’s soft white sand and get some much needed solitude.. but at the same time you are within striking distance of the Full Moon Party when the need arises.
It’s very serene here at Haad Yuan once the sun goes down and it’s as good a place as any to sit back, chill out and forget about all life’s stresses and worries.
There are a few accommodation options available here, from rustic style Thai bungalows to more upmarket and modern offerings. You’ll be sure to find something to suit your taste and budget here so all you need to do is choose the place that ticks all your boxes. Wherever you stay the view out to sea from the beach will be the same.. total and utter bliss.
When it comes to orientation, Haad Yuan is well placed to watch the sunrise if that’s your thing. It’s easterly facing beach can be the perfect spot to return to after a full moon party to watch the sun come up. A great ending to a great night! Don’t let it’s less than simple to get to location put you off from coming here, if only for a day visit. This beach is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on all who visit.
